A Journey Of Conscious Awakening
This was my my first solo exhibition in UK and second solo exhibition as an artist. The exhibition held at Assembly house studio, on September 7th 2024, when I was a studio member. I presented a series of 8 paintings. The series titled, "A Journey of Conscious Awakening", is a reflection of my journey as an artist and as an individual. Each piece in this series is part of a larger narrative, telling the story of personal growth and the gradual unfolding of my awareness.
The first painting of this series is called, "Awakening", which i painted in 2023 when I frist started practicing meditation. It was clearly a life changing moment when i started looking inward than outside myself. It was then I had the idea of painting a series. The seed started flourishing and i trusted the creative spirit to guide me through. Each piece of this series is an outcome of trusting the unknown and trusting the proces of bring the vision onto the canvas. The series took almost two years to finish, inspired from the life experiences, emotions, feelings, te darkness and also from experience I had through psychedelics and psychedelic trance music.
The pop-up format, held at Assembly House in Leeds, allowed for a more intimate connection with viewers, as they moved through this focused series of paintings. I made a playlist of songs that resonated with this series and played them throughout the exhibition which helped the audience to engage and feel more ina deeper level. My hope was that each piece would resonate with people on a personal level, encouraging them to reflect on their own journey of awakening.
